- 2 Locations, Stillwater & Guthrie
- ER nurse Founder's background
- On-site Lab draws
- Fountain Square, S Western
If you've been through Fountain Square on South Western, you may have walked past Strive. On Jan. 3, 2025, Second Banana Media's Entrepreneur Spotlight with Phil Nichols sat down with founder Stephen Hartzell to talk about the latest additions at Strive's Guthrie and Stillwater locations.
How did Strive get started?
According to Strive's own site, Stephen spent years as an ER nurse and saw how many emergencies didn't have to happen. He and his wife Tina opened Strive in Guthrie, and within a year they opened a second location in Stillwater.
What makes it different?
- A nurse's view of prevention. It was founded by an ER nurse who wanted to help people before something breaks.
- On-site lab draws at both locations, with HSA/FSA documentation (per the Strive site).
- It feels like home. Their site says patients talk about being listened to, "and yes — some days there's a therapy dog to greet you at the door."
Where are they now?
Open as of Oct 2026 at 1309 S Western Ave, and on the Best in Stillwater ballot under Medical Weight Loss.
